What is COLLABOR8©?
COLLABOR8© is an opportunity for design
students from diverse cultural backgrounds to work together. The
primary objectives are to achieve learning through working toward
a common design solution.

How can I collaborate with someone
from another culture that I don't know?
COLLABOR8© uses very simple technology to create a communication
channel very familiar to most students. Email and chat are the main
way you will communicate with your "email partner" during
the project. There is also a discussion board that allows for you
to leave messages for the group or to participate in discussions
about the project.

How does this relate to study in the design
area ?
Designers all types are finding that their work is changing. The
ability to work with other people is an essential skill for the
design professional. Networks are creating new ways of working together
where we do not need to be located in the same place. COLLABOR8©
provides a unique design experience for students to develop skills
in this increasingly important area of design practice.

Will "they" understand
me?
English is the main language used in COLLABOR8©. As the main
business language of the world, most students are exposed to English.
If you are unable to understand your email partner you can get help
by contacting your teachers.
learn a few words of your email partner's language. How to say hello
and goodbye for example...
